What We Do

Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO, (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) a voluntary, desegregation program which brings approximately 167 students, grades K-12, from Boston to Weston’s schools.

THE WESTON HIGH SCHOOL 2014 FRUIT SALE IS HERE!!

The Black Student Union is again sponsoring a fruit sale to raise money to support the activities of the Weston High School Black Student Union, and the Weston METCO Program.


Friday, November 14th is the last day for orders,

Fruit orders will arrive the week of December 15th.

Dr. Ebonie Woolcock.is a graduate of the FraminghamMETCO program.  Her two younger sisters, Yorkela and Lejae, are graduates of the WestonMETCO program and are referenced and pictured in the article.  One is now an accountant and the other a teacher.

 

The article pays tribute to the METCO program and the achievements of a few of its graduates.

Welcome to Theresa Burns!
 
It is my pleasure to announce that Theresa Burns of Weston will be our new Weston METCO Community Coordinator.
 
Theresa Burns has served as a Community Corps member with Jumpstart, working at a school in Jamaica Plain. Previously, she was employed from 2006-2013 at Castle Hill Academy in Medfield and as a pediatric nurse. She has also volunteered in a variety of roles including with the Girl Scouts, as Auction Chair at Newton Country Day School, and in several capacities within the Medfield Public Schools. Ms. Burns has three young adult children.  Ms. Burns graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Nursing.
 
Please join me in welcoming her to Weston!
